Hilary Duff Talks About Married Life
Rebecca Black isn't the only singer that has had to deal with pregnancy rumors this year. The newlywed pop star and her hubby, professional Canadian hockey player Mike Comrie also had to deal with rumors that she was expecting back in January. The stories surfaced in numerous tabloids but were shut down by Hilary herself early on.
She recently said that while having children was something that they both wanted they weren't in a rush to get there just yet. "We talk about it. Yes, we're excited to do that, but I want to work a little bit more," the 23-year-old star told Billy Bush and Kit Hoover on Monday's Access Hollywood Live. "I'm tossing around the idea of making another record and obviously that wouldn't be very good timing," the former "Lizzie McGuire" star continued. "We want it, we're excited for it, but I think it can wait just a little while longer."
Hilary and Mike (29) were married on August 14, 2010 during an intimate ceremony in Santa Barbara, California. The couple exchanged vows at the Mediterranean Villa La Quinta around 8 p.m under an arch of flowers and in front of about 100 guests and spent their wedding night at the nearby historic San Ysidro Ranch. The couple married after three years of dating.
The star of the upcoming movie "Bloodworth" said that her husband completely stands by her decision. "He's supportive of me, he knows that I'm still young and if I want to work more, he's totally supportive of that," she added.
Lady Gaga Joins the Million Club
"Born This Way", the new record by Pop Star Lady Gaga sold 1.11 million copies during its first week at the end of may according to Billboard Magazine. A far cry from the conservative sale estimates that the label had given the record (less than 50,000). However, many critics have said that this is only due to Amazon.com's controversial (and initially botched) decision to sell the record for just 99. There could be some truth to this as it's estimated that the online retailer sold upwards of 440,000 of the album at the cheap price. In general, digital sales accounted for 662,000 of the artist's record sales (over 60%).
In any case, this marks the biggest first-week sales total since rapper 50 Cent's The Massacre debuted to 1.14 million copies in March 2005. The last album to break the million mark was country starlet Taylor Swift's "Speak Now", which started with 1.01 million copies last November. In total, only 17 albums have broken the million mark in their first weel since the tracking firm Nielsen SoundScan began collecting point-of-sales data in 1991.
Born This Way marks Lady Gaga's second full-length album for Interscope Records, a unit of Vivendi SA's Universal Music Group. The 25-year-old New Yorker's 2008 debut The Fame peaked at No. 2 and has sold 4.2 million copies to date in the United States. Reviews of the album were mixed with Rolling Stone describing the album as "disarmingly great" while the Los Angeles Times claims it draws from "the worst tendencies of the last decade of dance music".
Heidi Klum's Site Is Up!
Some of you may remember back in January of this year when multi-hyphenate superstar Heidi Klum announced that she was teaming up with AOL to lunch a lifestyle website. For those that hadn't heard, the idea was to create exclusive content that would focus on fashion, beauty, parenting, arts and crafts, relationships and Lifestyle. Klum worked alongside Full Picture Entertainment (the producers behind six-time Emmy nominated Project Runway) to create video content, articles, blogs, instructional photo galleries etc that appears in the AOL domain.
The supermodel had offered the following statement about the venture "During my 15 years in the business, I've received so many questions on a variety of topics from my favorite toothbrush to juggling family and a busy work schedule. I'm bringing in the experts that have helped me over the years to help inspire you!" she said . "Women are looking for content that speaks to every part of their lives. Right now, advice seems so scattered online. I have created a place on AOL that's really one-stop-shopping: for women as moms, wives, workers, friends and their most creative selves. We're working hard to make sure you enjoy it a few months from now. Stay tuned!"
It seems that AOL has been busy trying to boost its content offerings by enlisting big names. Some recent examples include Ellen DeGeneres and Jim Wiatt. But that's not all, back in 2010, AOL closed deals with more than 20 premium content partners and digital studios to deliver a mix of high quality programming to AOL's audiences. Video franchises across AOL's owned and operated properties include, AOL Sessions; The Engadget Show; Translogic on AOL Autos; a number of shows on Cambio.com - Cambio Connect, Cambio Style, Cambio Goes Home and Cambio Cares; and The Secret Millionaire's Club on AOL Kids.
AOL chairman and CEO Tim Armstrong talked about how excited they were about their new project "Our objective in 2011 is to make AOL the first choice online destination for women. This announcement with Heidi Klum is another great example of how AOL is committed to building high quality branded content with the best partners in the business, serving both our users and our advertisers."
Well, Heidi's world on AOL is officially launched. Currently the lifestyle site only features fashion and beauty content. But pretty soon it will branch out to cover parenting, relationships, lifestyle, fitness, and nutrition.
